The FOB came today in the mail - Jonathan was pretty thrilled - he had been playing with the FOBs in my laptop, comparing the LED colors (one was in a shadow, so looked red, and the other looked pink) and shielding the sun with his hand.

I find FOBs useful for copying large files quicker than over the internet. For example, I just brought home the Platform SDK and a service pack for Visual Studio, and on our slow DSL connection, it would have taken 76 minutes (in ideal conditions, with no other internet traffic, no collisions, delays, etc) to download.

I don't need a flash drive... what would I use it for? But let me put in a good word for Google Checkout. I've used it before, and I like it because it makes it easy to check out at whatever site has the lowest price (if they support Google Checkout) without having to make an account, enter your address and credit card, etc. again and again.

I've never commented? I think I found it through Tom's awhile back. Yeah, about 1/2 of the ACFers live (or have lived) down in Northern Virginia, where I am currently living. I even lived with one (Betty) until last week, when she got married (to Kevin). Heather - hi to you as well!

Hey there -- took me a while to figure out who you were... :)

I see all the ACF folks linked to on your blog, but didn't know that you actually read mine.

Thanks, Jon! I've been waiting to get one because I have a poor track record with thumb drives (one fell off my keychain and was on the driveway for several days and probably run over by one of the cars, the other simply stopped working). Can't beat $6.
