The doctor did indeed verify that there was some particle under his upper eyelid, and that it is now gone. All irritations/abrasions are external, and she can see signs of healing already. She prescribed a different ointment, more broad-spectrum in case the particle was organic matter (highly likely.) She wants to see him again next week, and we need to pay attention to the healing (look for worsening or fever) and get him seen right away if things start to look worse. But already the eye is looking better. Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming!

I would keep a steady stream of wet warm facecloths coming his way.

He does like holding a warm cloth on his eye during the mandated two minute period where he is supposed to keep his eye closed after getting the medicine.

He didn't mind the medicine as much yesterday, exclaiming, "It didn't sting!" after the two minutes was up. I was beginning to think it was how I was doing it, since it stung more late last night, but I heard him howl this morning, so it must just be different times of the day, or maybe there still is something in there, so sometimes there are scratches or something.

Obviously you have to be careful that it's not too hot but if it's just hot enough, it should provide relief. What is ideal is moist heat to soften and relax the whole area.
