My current reading project is to read through, more or less chronologically, every book by or about C. S. Lewis that we own (more than 50), as I've already done for George MacDonald, Miss Read, J. R. R. Tolkien, and the plays of William Shakespeare. I find it a worthwhile exercise in following an author's development of style and thought. And since I only pick authors I like, it's also a wonderful experience. But it means a lot of C. S. Lewis will be showing up here in the next year or so.

While I thoroughly enjoyed C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" and Space Trilogy, I don't subscribe to his theology, which, for some, has become a fifth gospel.

I continue to hold to free thought, recognizing that all theologies are man-made. Orthodoxy vs. Heresy is a thoroughly un-Christian battle. How we treat others is paramount.

There are a few things I do hold in common with orthodox thought, and one of them is that there is something profoundly wrong with humanity, however, this is not due to a "fall", but to the fact that we have not yet attained true humanity yet. Selfishness is the root of all evil in humans. We have seen Satan, and he is us. The solution our predicament not the thought that God requires to see blood before God forgives sin. The solution is "Your must be born again." In other words, there must be a spiritual awakening.

I am most sympathetic to Paul Tillich's and Alfred North Whitehead's process philosophy, and Charles Hartshorne (nd John B. Cobb's religious adaptation: Process Theology.
